Housing Adaptations
In certain circumstances, East Lothian Council can provide help to adapt your house. For further information on this please go here.
Help from other organisations
Additional help and further information is available from a number of organisations, whose web sites describe in detail Housing Options for the disabled in Scotland.
The Ownership Options site specialises in home ownership issues affecting disabled people in Scotland.
The Housing Options site enables a Personal Housing Plan to be drawn up to suit individual needs, across both rented and bought tenures.
The Common Knowledge site includes a variety of useful documents which can help inform choice. It includes for example, a guide to buying a house whilst on state benefits, and information about buying a house to rent to a disabled person.
