Objections: Notes on Guidance
REGULAR EXTENSIONS OF PERMITTED HOURS

Standard core hours for licensed premises are:-

Monday to Saturday  11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday  12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. & 6.30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Off-sale Licences are:-

Monday to Saturday  8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday  12.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Off-sale premises cannot have extensions to hours.

Objecting to Regular Extensions

Any of the abovementioned persons/organisations may object to an application for Regular Extension of Permitted Hours.  This must be in writing and lodged with the Clerk and a copy sent to the applicant not less than 7 days before the quarterly meeting at which the application is to be heard.

The objection must be on relevant grounds.  Please be as detailed as possible in your letter and include any evidence if appropriate.
 
Please remember to give your address and sign your letter of objection as anonymous letters cannot be considered.

The Board should not grant a regular extension if it “is likely to cause undue nuisance or be a threat to public order or safety” (Section 64(8).
