East Lothian Council's Headquarters can be found in the market town of Haddington, 20 miles from Edinburgh on the A1.

Visitor parking is available at John Muir House and there is also a large long stay car park accessed via the entrance to the Tesco supermarket.

Council HQ and all local offices are open between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Thursday with a 4 pm close on Fridays. Every Wednesday morning, the local offices of Dunbar, North Berwick, Haddington, Musselburgh,  Prestonpans and Tranent are closed from 9 am - 10 am for staff training. Payments counters close 30 minutes earlier than general enquiry counters each day.
