1. Launch event of an East Lothian Environment Forum The launch event for an East Lothian Environment Forum took place on Saturday 31st May at Musselburgh East Community Learning Centre. There was a good turnout with 45 delegates attending, with wide representation from local councillors and community councils, local and national organisations, and interested individuals. The report of the event outlines the key presentations, the discussions from the two workshops on key environmental challenges for East Lothian and on developing a new Environment Forum and the next steps to progress these. 2. Our workshop "What should we be doing together to achieve our priorities for East Lothian?" on 15 March 2008 in QMU was a great success. There were 74 participants, mainly very positive feedback and some immediate results as some workshop suggestions were actioned by service providers on the day...

Next steps: The priorities identified in this event along with other information from existing local work and national standards have been used to develop objectives for the Community Plan which will guide our work for the next 4 years.  Here is the proposal for the objectives which will be discussed and agreed at the Community Planning Implementation Group meeting on 12 June 2008.  As these objectives relate to the Single Outcome Agreement process also attached is the report to be discussed at the above meeting. 3. Consultation on Devolved Decision Making on Services to Communities March-April 2008 ELCPP is carrying out this consultation with service user groups and public agencies who provide services in East Lothian to collect views on further opportunities for devolving decision-making on services to communities - whether geographic communities or communities of interest at East Lothian level. The consultation period has been extended to 18 April for service providers with extra time for service user groups. We are asking community groups and networks (user groups) and statutory service providers to give their views on the forms below.
