Courses for Adults

We offer a wide range of day and evening classes (mainly for leisure and personal development, but some certificated). Subjects include computing, languages, physical activities and a wide range of arts and crafts. There are venues all over East Lothian in community centres, schools or village halls.

The main programme starts in August/September and is advertised in the Focus magazine and libraries and community centres in late July or early August. Continuation classes and some new classes start in January. These are advertised in the local press and in libraries around mid-December. Classes in the summer are mainly continuation classes, but there are sometimes new classes.

Minimum age for most classes is 18, but younger students are sometimes accepted by arrangement.

There are fee reductions for full-time students and students 60+ and retired. Those on certain benefits can pay a concession fee (currently £9 per course).

It is usually possible to offer a free place to a support worker or carer if students need help to enable them to participate fully in a class. This must be arranged in advance.
