East Lothian Council, as part of its continuing support for the local food and drink sector, took a stand at the recent BBC Good Food Show in Glasgow. The show has established itself as the leading food and drink consumer show in Scotland with guest appearances from leading chefs Gordon Ramsay and Nick Nairn.
Five local companies manned the East Lothian food and drink stand which was visited by many of the 100,000 visitors to the show. The participating companies agreed that it was an excellent event with some excellent sales made and new business contacts sealed.
The Food and Drink directory and East Lothian Golf Guide were also available on the stand and were well received by all attendees.
Provost Sheena Richardson who visited the show said: “The council provided the exhibition stand and together with the hard work of the staff who manned it, raised East Lothian's profile at national level as a great place for food and drink.”
