Christmas market at Queen Margaret University

As part of Queen Margaret University's commitment to building positive community relations, the institution is to host a Christmas market on 4th December.

The event will involve a variety of traders, food suppliers and gift retailers from the local area. The University is also keen to encourage the participation of local crafts people.

Queen Margaret University will organise the event. Whilst the Christmas Market is not a profit making exercise, stalls will be charged at a fee of £30 to cover costs.

Sarah Whigham, Event Manager, said: "This is a great opportunity for Queen Margaret University to bring together a wide variety of suppliers and talented individuals from the local community. The event will take place on University Square and we would be delighted if as many people as possible from East Lothian would join in the festivities."

"We hope to have a range of entertainment involving students, local school children and musicians. We certainly hope that it will be a great start to the festive season and will provide us with the opportunity to forge new relationships between the University and the local community."

Sarah Whigham concluded: "The event is certain to be fun for all the family. We even hope that Santa Claus might be able to put in a guest appearance for the children."

The Christmas market will take place at Queen Margaret's new campus on University Square on Thursday 4th December from 3pm - 7pm. Anyone interested in having a stall or who requires further information should contact Sarah Whigham on tel: 0131 474 0000, email: swhigham@qmu.ac.uk

All welcome on the day.
